MARBLE
Marble is a metamorphic rock resulting from metamorphism of sedimentary carbonate rocks, such as limestone. The characteristic swirls and veins of many colored marble varieties are usually due to various mineral impurities such as clay, silt, sand, iron oxides, which were present as layers in the limestone.

Pros:
Some of the most beautiful and warm stone which matches virtually any style home and/or decor that gives a fresh, clean, transitional modern feel to any space; Marble can be cost-effective (depending on which marble you choose or can be very expensive); It’s heat resistant (but for optimum care always use a pot holder or cutting board).
Cons:
Needs annual resealing and extra care (Marble should be treated in the same way as a fine piece of wood), Cost can be high for exotic marbles, acidic substances can etch the surface if leaf for too long.

COUNTERTOPS
The reason marble remains in heavy demand for counter-tops is its elegant good looks. This igneous stone comes in a wonderful display of color. Your choice of hues includes solid white, solid black and a range of variety colors in the rose, yellow, gray, green, white and black spectrums. No two slabs are alike, so you’ll be assured of having a unique counter-top for your home.
